Description: 1) That BRITISH TELECOMMUNICATIONS PUBLIC LIMITED as an undertaker executing street works which were broken up, open and obstructed by plant and materials in connection with the work site on Watling Street Northwich did on the 5th February 2014 , fail to use traffic control in accordance with the direction of the traffic authority. In contravention of the Safety at Street Works Code of Practice. Contrary to section 65 (1) (b), section 65(2) of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 2) That BRITISH TELECOMMUNICATIONS PUBLIC LIMITED as undertaker executing street works on Watling Street Northwich did on the 5th February 2014 fail to adequately guard the work zone in accordance with the Safety at Street Works Code of Practice (As Amended). Contrary to section 65(1)(b), section 65(3)(b) and section 65(4) of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991. 3) That BRITISH TELECOMMUNICATIONS PUBLIC LIMITED as an undertaker executing street works which involved obstructing the passage for pedestrians on Watling Street Northwich did on the 5th Febrauary 2014 fail to provide pedestrians with an alternative safe route in contravention of the Safety at Street Works Code of Practice. Contrary to section 65(1)(b), section 65(3)(b) and section 65(4) of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.
Outcome: 1. Guilty £3300 fine 2. No separate penalty 3. No separate penalty Pay contribution to costs of £1200 Pay victim surcharge of £120
